Newborn Care

All classes are on a Saturday at Beginnings Birth Center http://Beginningsbirthcenter.com

This class is open to anyone who is interested. It is not limited to birth center clients.

Cost of class is $30/family, payable at time of class. Cash please.

If you purchase a baby memory book, the cost of the class will be deducted from the book price.

Scholarships available upon request.

Each two-hour class is a complete presentation (this is not a series). My goal is to provide you with evidence based information that you can use as you parent your new infant. We begin with a review of the physiologic challenges a newborn faces in the first weeks of life to provide a context for understanding his capabilities and vulnerabilities. We will also will consider the role of awake and sleeping states, and the subtle behaviors that communicate baby’s inner reserves and readiness for interaction. Current Academy of Pediatrics recommendations for newborn care will be presented and I will try to answer every question that you have. This new little being is truly an amazing person and, by design, completely irresistible!
